Early Years IB PYP Curriculum

The early childhood approach of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) provides children aged 3 to 5 years with a transformative, transdisciplinary experience. This relevant, engaging, and challenging curriculum spans academics, arts, and physical education, alongside a variety of activities and experiences, setting the foundation for academic excellence and success within the IB Continuum in the following years.

The PYP focuses on the child's development as a whole, preparing them to become proactive, respectful, lifelong learners. Early Years children delve into hands-on projects that cut across various subjects with transdisciplinary themes, offering opportunities to grasp fundamental concepts while connecting them with real-world scenarios. This approach enables our young learners to explore the Spanish national curriculum within this international framework, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience. The acquisition of different skills and knowledge within a vibrant learning environment where children feel valued, confident and independent is at the heart of the Early Years curriculum.

Bilingual Nursery School in Toledo

Growing up Naturally Bilingual at Our Preschool

Throughout the school day, the Nursery and Early Years children in our preschool in Toledo are accompanied by two early childhood educators who assist them in their daily activities and routines using English and Spanish. This approach enables children to naturally acquire both languages while developing their communication skills.

From the age of three, when the IB Primary Years Programme begins, students are immersed in a multilingual environment as, in addition to their bilingual education, they receive German and French lessons from native-speaking teachers. This linguistic diversity opens doors to unlimited possibilities in their future.
