Our school is located on the outskirts of Toledo, a historic UNESCO World Heritage city, in the exclusive residential neighbourhood of La Legua. With excellent views of the river and the old city, our location is ideal for families seeking a first-class boarding experience in a quiet, safe and accessible area, offering unlimited opportunities for enrichment programmes in the city and the countryside. 

Toledo is just 1 hour by car from Madrid and 25 minutes by fast train, allowing our boarders to visit the capital during their stay. Additionally, our school's proximity to ski resorts in Spain enables memorable winter trips, while its nearness to different national parks fosters a wealth of fun excursions and activities, including zip lines and trekking.

In addition to participating in a wide range of extracurricular activities, our boarders are encouraged to take advantage of their extended access to our school’s exceptional academic, sports, and arts facilities after school and at weekends. These include two swimming pools, a triathlon centre, a football pitch, an auditorium, fully equipped music rooms, to name a few.

Boarding Options Adapted to Your Needs

We aim to provide a convenient and enjoyable boarding experience for students and their families at our top-ranked school. Therefore, we offer flexible boarding options, allowing students to choose between full-time or weekly boarding for either a full course or a short stay in our residence.

Boarding seven days a week, including weekends. This option is available for students aged 14 and above, attending MYP3 to DP2. Full boarding can also be requested for children under 14 years of age (MYP1 and MYP2) but will only be offered based on an assessment of their maturity levels.

This is the most popular option among our boarders. The length of stay depends on whether students are enrolled in the IB MYP or IB Diploma Programme. For MYP boarders, the length of each full course stay is one academic year, with the option to renew boarding each year, provided the student is enrolled for the following school year. In the Diploma Programme, the duration of the full course stay is two years, aligning with the programme itself.

Short stays are available at our boarding house for a duration of 3 months or more. We welcome students from all over the world for this option, subject to availability in our Boarding House. Learners can join MYP courses for their short-stay programme at the beginning of each term or choose DP1 in the first term only.

Sunday evening to Friday afternoon. Weekly boarders spend weekends and national holidays at home with their families. This option is mandatory for children aged 12 to 14 but is available to all other boarders as well.

Our on-campus Boarding House is purpose-designed for the comfort and safety of our residents, offering all the necessary amenities for a fulfilling personal and academic life.

The building is separated into two floors, one for boys and one for girls, with dorm rooms providing accommodation for up to 4 students. Our dorm rooms are distributed and organised to facilitate friendships among international boarders, promoting an environment of linguistic and cultural diversity. 

All rooms are ensuite, with the bathroom shared among the boarders in that room. They boast a modern design and comfortable furniture, as well as air conditioning and underfloor heating. Each student has an individual desk, wardrobe, and shelves.

The building also features:

  • Two common living rooms with a TV.  
  • Two boarding house kitchen areas with a refrigerator, microwave and storage space for students to place their favourite snacks.
  • A private outdoor patio area for boarding students only.

Boarding Activities & Enrichment Programmes

Joining our boarding school in Toledo will provide your child with a comprehensive enrichment programme. This includes indoor, outdoor and off-campus activities, besides San Patricio's extensive extracurricular options and unlimited possibilities to enjoy the facilities after school and during weekends.

Weekly and weekend leisure time can include team building or community service, sports tournaments, competitions, dancing, movie nights, BBQs, karaoke, challenges, games, and many other options. Boarders go on teacher-led cultural trips to Toledo and Madrid, enjoy excursions to beautiful natural sites and parks, and take part in unique skiing trips. They can also go to Toledo to attend special shows, go bowling, shopping, or do escape rooms. With each of these activities, we aim to enhance our students' social and emotional well-being. 

Additionally, our experienced boarding staff provide special skills training sessions as further preparation for students’ future university and professional lives, spanning autonomy, time management, and more. They also develop routines that foster greater independence and self-development, ensuring that boarding life complements and supports the academic growth of our students.

Services

Our boarding house provides a full meal service for boarders, from breakfast to dinner, including weekends (for full-time boarders). All meals served are wholesome, tasty and nutritious. We aim to celebrate the rich diversity of nationalities and cultures within our residence through our cuisine while prioritising a balanced diet and promoting healthy eating habits. Our chef caters to a wide range of tastes, meal preferences and dietary restrictions.

As providing delicious food and top-quality service are paramount to our school, meals are made freshly every day. Throughout the school year, international lunches are prepared with our student body in mind, especially at weekends.

Boarding meals consist of:

• Breakfast: cereal, bread, biscuits, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, milk, cocoa.
• Lunch: choice of first and second courses, salads, fruit, and dairy products.
• Dinner: choice of first and second courses, salads, fruit, and dairy products.

The Boarding School provides a weekly laundry service. Bed linen and towels are changed weekly when the room is cleaned by our cleaning staff. We also offer a service for personal clothing, including laundry and ironing.

Should a boarding student require a transfer service to get around the city or go to the airport, families can ask the boarding house staff to organise it for them. 

The Head of Boarding and personal tutor should be informed of any other personal activities, such as extra lessons outside of school, and participation in non-school professional sports teams.

Full-boarding students may be absent on weekends with sufficient notice and permission from parents or guardians.

The boarding school is located on our modern ISSPT campus just outside of Toledo, one of the safest cities in Spain. Our campus is fully enclosed and secure, with 24/7 security support in place for all students and staff. There are security staff on duty at night and weekends.
